Greenhorn
- A newcomer, especially one who is unfamiliar with the ways of a place or group
These socks feature a simple cable pattern and an unusual construction. The stitch pattern looks great with a solid yarn, but still manages to hold its own with a a self striping yarn. The sock’s heel and gusset are worked at the same time and in the round. This helps prevent flashing over the gusset and eliminates the need to pick up stitches.
The pattern includes a worksheet that allows you to use this heel and gusset construction for other socks.
This pattern is written for 2 sizes. The sock works well in either standard or heavy sock yarn. Yarn choice affects gauge and thus overall size. By picking both a size and a yarn weight, you can easily get sizes between 6.75 and 9 inches.
The pattern costs $5.50.
