EnsnaredThese socks were inspired by a weekend spent shamelessly squandering my valuable time watching the television show The Tudors. The history was a bit dodgy, but the costumes were enchanting. I particularly liked the netting that adorned many of the women’s dresses. I have tragically few opportunities to wear ballgowns, but I do wear socks. These are my attempt to create a more practical incarnation of the netting I found so lovely.

In addition to the decorated cuff, these socks also feature an unusual gusset construction that creates an interesting effect and fits exceptionally well. The instructions may looks a bit intimidating, but with the help of a few stitch markers, the process is actually quite simple. A few small changes adapt the sock for men’s feet.
