Practice Makes…

Practice makes…well, it hasn’t made perfect quite yet, but it is getting better. I can now consistently spin for at least half an hour without feeling the need to swear profusely. It’s looking prettier too. Maybe there’s hope yet.

Great job! I’m getting ready to try drop spinning and I hope that eventually mine will look as nice as yours is now. Congratulations!

Thanks! I bet you can do it. The thing that helped me the most was getting a nice spindle and finding 15 minutes a day to practice. I know it sounds corny, but it really does just take time to get the hang of it. Good luck!

Thank you for the advice! Makes perfect sense to me. I’m looking forward to being able to get started and see what I can do. I have high hopes and I hope I don’t disappoint myself! ha.

It looks wonderful! Don’t be so down on yourself – it is one of those skills that takes lots of practice, preferably daily. Try ten minutes every day and you will be surprised at the difference in your spinning in a few weeks.

And the practice is fun! I was able to do about 1.5 ounces in one nice long piece (when I do the other 1.5 and put the two together it will be just a bit thicker than sock yarn) in 3 nights. It was nice and even and was soothing rather than frustrating. It’s totally getting easier!
