We did it!  Thank you all for your votes. You pushed me into the lead.  For those of you who want to join the knit along, the Sock that Rock group is here.  Knitting starts on the first of July and ends on thirtieth of September.

As promised, I’m going to do a sale to celebrate.  From now until midnight (eastern time) Friday June 19, buy any one pattern and get any other pattern for free. Alas, there isn’t an easy way to automate the process, so we’ll have to do it manually.  Here’s how it will work:

  1. Buy a pattern between now and midnight of Friday June 19.
  2. Forward a copy of your purchase receipt to hunter-STRKAL (at) ViolentlyDomestic (dot) com.
  3. In that email, be sure to tell me which free pattern you would like.
  4. I will send you an email with a pdf of the pattern you requested.

Thanks again for the votes.  I can’t wait for the knitting to begin!

We’re Off to the Races

The voting on the Socks That Rock knit along is neck and neck, and closes on Monday.  If you think you’d like to knit Dippers as part of a knit along, I’d love to have your vote.  You can vote by going here (Ravelry link) and clicking the love button next to the entry for Dippers (they are the last ones down on the page).  If I win, I am planning to do a ‘buy one, get one free’ offer for a few days to say thanks.  Fingers crossed!

Who’s Next?

propitiateEmbonpoint is being tested, and the pattern should be out next week. I’m mailing the socks off to Schaefer this morning and will do my best to demonstrate the firmness of character and stoic resolve for which I am known (in other words, I shall try not to weep in the post office as I send them away).

In the meantime, another ball of yarn sort of slipped and fell and found itself impaled on my needles in the shape of a sock.  No idea how that happened. This one is for The Boy, and is called Propitiate. There is a wee story behind the title, and I shall explain it later. In the meantime, you’ll have to make do with just a picture.  I have to go try not to embarrass myself in front of the postal clerks.

Double Dipped

dippedIt seems Dippers is getting a bit of attention. A Socks That Rock group on Ravelry is considering using it for their next knit along. I’m thrilled! The idea of seeing it knit up in so many of the lovely Blue Moon colorways is rather staggering.

Just in case it is selected, I went back over the pattern and make sure it was up to snuff. It was one of my earlier attempts, and I wanted to be sure it was ok. There were a few small typos (nothing that would have kept the earlier version from being used, just cosmetic issues), and I have corrected them. The slightly corrected version of the pattern is now up on the Dippers pattern page.  If you downloaded yours before today, you may want to get the new one.

Embonpoint is done, and I love them! They are marvelously smooshy and fantastically photogenic. See?

They are getting shipped off to Schaefer this week. With luck, the pattern should be available shortly. I can’t wait to start seeing these made.

Nearly There

Embonpoint is coming right along.  The second sock is more than half done (and is quite a bit smaller than what I normally make — I’m aiming for an 8, instead of my usual and much more impressive 11).  With a bit of luck they should be finished this weekend.  I want to get them done as quickly as possible before I become even more attached.  I have a feeling sending these off for their photo shoot and life of sock glory is going to be like returning foster puppies to the shelter.  With luck, the pattern should be available by the end of the month.  In the mean time, here’s one more picture.
